Prusa Slicer Pressure Advance Calibration

1. Get the STL

Download the test model

2. Slice & Export

  1. Import it into Prusa Slicer and place in the middle of the bed.
  2. Slice this model with your preferred slicer settings
    • Select the filament preset that you want to tune
    • Use the printing preset that you want to tune for
    • If using a multi-tool printer (XL) select the tool that has the filament in it

3. Generate Test Pattern

We will use your exported .gcode to find your printers start/end gcode and the slicers settings

Pressure Advance Test Range

Test from 0.025 to 0.1 in steps of 0.005.
Prints 16 test lines: 0.025, 0.03, 0.035, 0.04, 0.045, 0.05, 0.055, 0.06, 0.065, 0.07, 0.075, 0.08, 0.085, 0.09, 0.095, 0.1

4. Print It

Print the GCode on your printer.

There is no easy way to send raw GCode to a Prusa printer right now, so put it on the USB stick.

Follow this guide to find the best Pressure Advance Value. The guide is older but it has good pictures and information on what to look for.

5. Update Filament GCode

Fill in the best value here and copy the code to your filament's starting GCode
